About Bear Creek Capital Network
Markets, investing, the economy and money: what moved, who it affects and what is still unknown, reported without telling you what to buy.
What we publish
Bear Creek Capital Network reports on the money system: markets and the instruments traded in them, how capital is being invested, the economic decisions that set the conditions, and what all of it does to banking, credit, mortgages, taxes and retirement for ordinary people. We publish daily across four sections: Markets, Investing, Economy and Money.
Two kinds of work sit side by side. Our own reporting and analysis, where we read across several accounts of a story and say what we think is actually happening. And a curated feed of the day's coverage elsewhere, so one page tells you what moved.
How we treat other publishers' work
When we point to another publication's reporting we show the headline, a short excerpt and a link, and the link goes to them. We do not reproduce articles, and we do not rewrite somebody else's piece and publish it as our own.
The reader gets one place to see what happened. The publication that did the work gets the reader.
Editorial standards
Everything we publish as reporting is intended to be factually accurate. Where we draw on another outlet's work we say which outlet and link to it, so a reader can check the original rather than take our word for it.
Analysis is labeled as analysis. Where a piece reaches a conclusion that goes beyond what the sources establish, it is written as our reading of the evidence and not as an additional fact.
Bear Creek Capital Network is produced with a technology-assisted editorial system under standards set and maintained by our editorial team, and every piece remains subject to review, correction and withdrawal.
What we are not
We are not your financial adviser and nothing here is investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We report what happened, who is affected and what is still uncertain, and we say whose forecast a forecast is. Past performance tells you nothing about what happens next. Talk to a licensed adviser who knows your circumstances before you act, and treat anything marketed directly to you with a guaranteed return as the warning sign that it is.
We are not affiliated with any broker, bank, fund, exchange or issuer, we do not sell financial products, we take no position in anything we write about, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for placement in the curated feed.
Bylines
Every article carries a byline. Work produced by the newsroom rather than an individual contributor is published under the Bear Creek Staff byline.
Contact and corrections
We correct factual errors, and we would rather hear about one from you than leave it standing.
For corrections, editorial inquiries, rights, or to tell us we have linked to you in a way you would rather we did not, email editor@bearcreekcapital.net with a link to the piece. Where a correction changes the substance of an article, we note the change on the article itself.
